Bill Kehoe is Director and State Chief Information Officer (CIO) at WaTech, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a strong track record in public sector technology leadership. Prior to joining WaTech, Kehoe served as the Chief Information Officer for Los Angeles County, California, since 2017. In this role, he oversaw a wide array of IT functions, including enterprise security, information management, enterprise architecture, and technology consulting across 37 county departments. He was also a key advisor to the Board of Supervisors and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), shaping the county’s technology strategy, policies, and governance.Kehoe’s extensive background in managing IT operations spans both local and state government agencies, with over 15 years of experience in Washington state. Before his tenure in Los Angeles, he held several influential positions in Washington, including serving as the Chief Information Officer and IT Department Director for King County from 2010 to 2017. Prior to that, he was appointed as the inaugural Chief Information Officer for the Department of Licensing, a role he held from 2002 to 2010. Kehoe’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Gonzaga University, complemented by a Project Management Certificate from the University of Washington. He has also completed Lean Six Sigma training, equipping him with a data-driven approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence. With his deep-rooted expertise in technology strategy, governance, and public-sector IT transformation, Kehoe is positioned to lead WaTech in driving innovation, cybersecurity, and digital service delivery across Washington state.
